192.168.1.1 is typically the IP address of a router, which is mainly used in home networks. The router and the computers inside the network have to use these kind of private IP address because the public ones are not enough for every computer to get one. This technology is called network address translation (NAT).

Via your web browser, go to http://192.168.1.1 to access the configuration management web site of your router.

Cannot Connect to 192.168.1.1?

You need to check the following configuration:

  1. Make sure that the IP address of your computer is set to 192.168.1.x, which means your computer’s address is in the same segment with the router’s.
  2. Make sure the router’s address on LAN side is actually 192.168.1.1. Some routers may have a different IP address, such as 192.168.0.1. Also the configuration may be changed by a user.
